Accessibility

Marigold Experiences, LLC is committed to making hellomarigold.com usable by the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We design to meet the WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines and continually test and improve the experience.

1. Standards we target

We design and develop against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This covers four principles:

  • Perceivable — content is presented in ways users can perceive, with text alternatives, captions, sufficient contrast, and resizable text.
  • Operable — every interactive element works with a keyboard, has visible focus, and does not require time-based interactions without a way to extend them.
  • Understandable — language, navigation, and input forms are predictable and give clear feedback.
  • Robust — the site uses semantic HTML and ARIA attributes so assistive technologies (screen readers, switch controls, voice input) can parse it.

2. Features we ship

  • Skip-to-main-content link at the top of every page.
  • Visible focus rings on every interactive element, following brand colors.
  • Semantic HTML landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) for screen-reader navigation.
  • Keyboard-accessible navigation, search, filters, and booking flow. No mouse required.
  • Color contrast ratios at or above 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and UI components.
  • Alternative text on meaningful images. Decorative images are marked as such for assistive tech.
  • Form fields with persistent labels, clear error states, and inline help.
  • Reduced-motion support — animations respect your operating-system preferences.

3. Known issues + roadmap

Accessibility is a journey, not a destination. We know the current site is not perfect. Known gaps we are actively working on:

  • Automated captions on any host-supplied video content (for hosts who add video to listings).
  • Additional translations for non-English speakers — currently English only.
  • Improved screen-reader narration for the booking-calendar component.

4. How to report an accessibility problem

We want to hear from you. Email info@hellomarigold.com with the page URL, a description of the problem, the assistive technology you are using, and any screenshots. We commit to acknowledging your report within 2 business days and providing an action plan within 10 business days.

5. Third-party content

Embedded content from partners (payments, maps, video) is outside our direct control. We choose partners who prioritize accessibility but cannot guarantee their tools meet the same standard as our own site. Please report any issues you encounter so we can escalate.
